Today’s workout is a cardio-challenging ten minute AMRAP (As Many Reps As Possible). The goal of today’s WOD is to complete as many rounds of 20 mountain climbers, 20 double unders, and 20 Russian twists as you can in the ten minute time period. Pick a jump rope variation and number of reps that you can move through smoothly. I want you moving as continuously as possible today, not getting tangled up in a jump rope. Be smart, push hard, and do your best!
If you are an experienced athlete and feel capable, please perform the following WOD as prescribed (Rx):
Rx:
10 minute AMRAP:
20 mountain climbers (one leg counts as one rep)
20 double unders
20 Russian twists (20lb, 15lb)
AMRAPs scale automatically. A beginner will naturally perform fewer reps than an advanced athlete. However, it may also be necessary to scale other aspects of the workout. A beginner can perform imaginary jump rope or single unders rather than double unders and can perform the Russian twists without a dumbbell and with the heels resting on the ground. A beginner’s version of today’s workout could look like this:
Scaled 1:
10 minute AMRAP:
20 mountain climbers (one leg counts as one rep)
10 single unders or 20 imaginary jump rope
20 Russian twists
Perhaps something between the Rx version and the beginner version of the WOD is right for you today. Another variation of today’s WOD might look like this:
Scaled 2:
10 minute AMRAP:
20 mountain climbers (one leg counts as one rep)
10 double unders or 40 single unders
20 Russian twists (10lb, 5lb)
Your score is the total number of reps you complete during the 10 minute AMRAP. If you would like, leave your score in the comment section below!
