The dumbbell push press will enhance your athletic power while strengthening your upper body. It will work your shoulders, chest, and triceps with assistance from your legs and hips. To perform a dumbbell push press, start with the dumbbells resting on your shoulders. Dip your legs slightly and use the power generated by extending your hips as you stand to drive the dumbbells over your head. End with your arms locked out over your head, and then lower the dumbbells carefully back down to your shoulders. Please pick your weight carefully. Overhead strength takes time to develop, and the shoulders are easy to injure. Increase the weight you use gradually as your strength improves.
