The seated dumbbell press is a great substitute for the handstand push-up, because it strengthens the shoulders and triceps and also works the stabilizing muscles in the core. If possible perform the seated dumbbell press while sitting on the ground with your legs straight out in front of you as shown in the video above. If flexibility or other issues prevent you from sitting directly on the floor, you can sit on a box instead as shown in the video below.
