Wall walks are an intermediate gymnastics movement. They are not only great for building upper body strength, but they are also an excellent core exercise. In addition to making you stronger, wall walks will also increase your balancing abilities. They are even said to improve your mood, since the increased blood flow to the brain caused by being upside down has a calming and energizing effect.

Wall walks will take practice to master. A beginner can substitute inchworms for wall walks. When inchworms become easy, try wall walks with your feet on a box. This movement is demonstrated at 0:58 in the video below. If supporting your weight upside down  is scary to you, take it slowly. You can just step your feet up on the wall without walking your hands toward the wall to help you gain confidence in an upside down position. This scaling option is shown at 1:33 in the below video. As you get stronger and more confident, you can walk your hands closer and closer to the wall.
